EnergyStar® for Homes Version 3

In our nation’s movement toward more energy efficient buildings, the EPA has introduced EnergyStar® for Homes Version 3, which is more rigorous than Version 2.

Beginning January 1, 2012, all new homes must meet these new requirements if they are to be EnergyStar® Qualified homes.

Further, beginning January 1, 2012, all HERS Raters must be certified in the new program, in order to approve homes for EnergyStar® Qualification.

Home Energy Raters of Illinois, will be offering the 20 hour certification class to all existing HERS Raters. Each class will be taught in a “roundtable type” setting and will be limited to twelve students. The fee for the class, including training manual(s), and exam is $495.00. This class qualifies attendees for 16 hours of RESNET continuing education units.
